Leather is a natural product which by its very nature does vary in colour from individual hide to hide and any samples sent should be considered a guide only.

Variation in colour and texture will not be considered a manufacturing fault.

As a natural material leather there may be natural imperfections and blemishes, these are simply characteristics of genuine leather.

All other items are ordered individually, and custom built to your specifications. Our stock may also contain finished items for sale in store and ex-display models.

Consumer Terms and Conditions of Trading of Chesterfield Sofas Ireland.

Definitions.

The Company and our subcontractors(‘us/we/our’) and the Customer (‘you/your’) in relation to all sales of goods and services.

1. Product Specifications

a. We reserve the right to amend the specification of products without prior notice in relation to future sales.

b. Goods supplied may differ as a consequence from those on display or advertised. Unless agreed with you, the goods supplied will be of equivalent value, functionality, and appearance. Any significant variations will be highlighted.

c. We will endeavour to match the colour and texture of the fabric of your goods to the samples chosen as accurately as possible, but variations in both the colour and texture may occur.

d. We only use the finest hides but as leather goods are made from quality natural leather, they may not be uniform in colour or texture. Leathers will mellow with age and with any exposure to sunlight and heat.

2. Measurements

a. The measurements of all furniture and furnishings made by us will be as accurate as possible but are nevertheless approximate and subject to manufacturing tolerances up to and including +/- 5-10 % of the total size.

3. Pricing

a. All prices include VAT, where appropriate, at the prevailing rate and are subject to any promotional offer or discount.

b. Whilst every effort has been made to ensure that the prices displayed on our website are accurate, we reserve the right not to accept orders placed where the pricing is incorrect. Should this occur, we will inform you prior to any goods being produced.

4. Payments

a. We require payment in full before production of Goods will start.

b. Once your goods have been completed, we will contact you as soon as possible to advise you of your estimated delivery date. If for any reason you fail to make payment as required by these terms and conditions, then with effect from the date of invoice, the balance of the price will bear interest at the rate of 5% for each month or part of a month until such time as the balance of the price has been paid in full.

c. Our final prices listed include VAT and delivery to Ireland. Will provide delivery cost estimates for delivery to the UK on request.

d. We can accept payment by Credit/Debit card, Cheque or Bank Transfer.

e. Our bank details for payment by Bank Transfer are available on request.

f. A minimum of 30% non-refundable charge will be applied to all orders cancelled

5. Delivery

a. For all purchases we will contact you to arrange a delivery when your furniture is completed. Production time is usually 8 to 12 weeks.

b. We will deliver your goods to any Ireland or UK address subject to 1.4 above. All deliveries are completed subject to access. Our two-man team will deliver to the room of your choice, unwrap the goods and ask you to inspect the goods before signing the delivery note.

Our normal delivery teams will deliver to ground floor only. However, some deliveries may require alternative arrangements to be made by the customer.

It is the customers responsibility to facilitate parking for the delivery vehicle on the delivery day. If adequate parking is not available, the team may offer a kerbside drop only service or fail the delivery and a re-delivery fee would be charged for a future attempt.

Following production of your order it can take time for your items to be collected by the carriers. We will contact you approximately one week before delivery to book in. Our usual deliveries are completed Monday-Friday during office hours.

c. We will provide details of the delivery costs when the order has been placed.

d. If following the placing of your order our suppliers are unable to stock your chosen leather, we will contact you immediately to arrange a new delivery date based on the supplier’s new supply estimates.

e. If accidental damage to your order takes place during delivery, liability for any damage is limited to the repair, refund or replacement of the goods or the purchase price paid for the order.

It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure the access route is clear and all obstacles are removed such as paintings, clocks, or such like with walls, doorways, floors, and fittings being protected to prevent damage. Any damage must be noted on the paperwork. To ensure your claim is not rejected please make a note of any damage on the signed delivery note.

f. Delivery times are approximate; however, we will use our best endeavours to deliver orders in line with our estimated delivery dates provided at the time of sale. We will not be liable for any direct or indirect loss of profits or other monetary loss, or damage suffered by you through any reasonable delay or delay due to unforeseen circumstances outside of the reasonable control of Chesterfield Sofas Ireland or delay due to any reasonable rescheduling of delivery.

6. Returns and Refunds

Our 14 days returns policy applies to non-bespoke orders for domestic customers within Ireland and the UK only. Trade customers and overseas customers are unable to return orders.

a. We will accept the cancellation of a finished order (‘Goods’) subject to the following conditions.

b. The Goods must not have been made to your specification or otherwise personalized (‘bespoke’) to your requirements and your order was not placed following a showroom visit.

Please note all stock items are stock sold as seen and are not subject to our usual returns policy.

In the event you wish to return a stock item this must be agreed with Chesterfield Sofas Ireland prior to the return, and you will be liable for the return transport.

c. If you wish to cancel an order and have not seen the Goods in our showroom before placing your order, you must notify us of your wish to cancel no later than 14 days after delivery, in writing via email  to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or by letter delivered to our showroom by recorded delivery.

d. If these conditions are satisfied, the refund will be paid to you within 14 days of the date of cancellation or within 14 days of proof of return whichever is later. Refunds are processed via the method of payment originally used for the purchase of the Goods.

e. If you cancel, you are obliged to take reasonable care of any Goods delivered to you, which must be kept in a new unused condition.

f. In the unlikely event of a manufacturing fault or transit damage, all faults will be repaired on site wherever possible. If this is not possible, we will collect at our cost for factory repair. If the Goods are beyond repair, we will offer a replacement of equal value and style where possible, free of charge.

g. Please note that our cancellations/returns policy does not apply to export orders, stock clearance items, or bespoke items. Bespoke includes items ordered in a colour not offered in the standard swatch listed online. This does not affect your statutory rights.

7. Guarantees

a. The provisions of this clause apply in addition to your statutory consumer rights in relation to faulty or wrongly described goods. These rights are not affected by the guarantee.

b. For this clause the guarantor is Chesterfield Sofas Ireland.

c. All our sofas, chairs and upholstered stools carry a one year manufacturer’s guarantee covering all structural elements of our furniture including frames, springs and webbing, timber, structural stability, and joints. All other components covered for 12 months.

Any cracks in wood or damage to the leather due to extreme changes in room humidity or direct heat source (air conditioning and radiators) is excluded.

d. Title of the guarantee is non-transferable and shall remain with the original buyer. Proof of purchase is the responsibility of the purchaser.

e. The guarantee does not cover fading, neglect, abuse or misuse of your goods, loss or damage (including rusting and corrosion) due to unreasonable exposure to water or weather; loss or damage due to fire, smoke, explosion, lightning, sunlight, infestation by animals or boring insects, or theft, or accidental damage or loss caused by a third party. General wear and tear, including staining, excessive soiling, abrasion, tears and burns, accidental damage, natural cushion interior settlement / flattening and normal bed filling settlement are excluded.

8. Claims under Guarantee

a. In the event of a claim under guarantee occurring please contact Chesterfield Sofas Ireland in writing and we will advise you on how to proceed with your claim. All issues must be reported immediately on becoming apparent. Chesterfield Sofas Ireland will not be liable for any issues that worsen due to a delay in reporting. Any works required must be conducted by Chesterfield Sofas Ireland or our nominated representative. Any unauthorised works or third-party repairs may invalidate your warranty.

This guarantee may be invalidated if the purchaser does not follow or conduct proper care procedures as outlined by the company or in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations where applicable, or where the product has been adapted, abused, or altered.

b. To proceed with your claim we will require proof of purchase and you must be the original title holder of the Goods.

c. We will endeavour to repair the defective goods free of charge. If a repair is not possible you will be offered a replacement of similar or greater value in a similar style to your product. Only if a suitable replacement is not available will you be offered a refund.

d. We will not be liable for any direct or indirect loss of profits or other monetary loss or damage arising out of defective, damaged, or wrongly delivered goods, over and above the value of the goods themselves. This does not affect your statutory rights.

e. Our guarantees are limited to goods sold and retained in Ireland or the UK and were used solely for private and domestic purposes.

9. Internet/Web Purchases

a. All our bespoke upholstered goods are made to your exact specifications and therefore cannot be cancelled once we have accepted your order.

b. In respect of all other purchases you have the right to cancel your order up to 14 days after the delivery date. You must keep the product in an as-new saleable condition and retain the original packaging in the condition it was provided.

c. Should you require a refund or have any other query or complaint, please contact Chesterfield Sofas Ireland in writing, within 14 days of receiving your order.

f. We endeavour to display as accurately as possible the colours of our products that appear on the website. However, we cannot guarantee that the image you see on any digital screen or monitor, no matter how accurate, will accurately reflect the colour of the product delivered. We offer a free swatch service to view the swatches in your home environment. We strongly encourage all customers to request a swatch before completing your purchase.

g. The contract shall not be concluded until we have received your valid payment details and we have accepted your order.

h. Every effort is made to ensure the complete accuracy of our website however some prices/details may change from time to time, and it is possible that errors may occur. We will rectify any errors as swiftly as possible, but we cannot be responsible for any losses incurred.

i. We are entitled to refuse any order placed by you at our discretion.

j. To the maximum extent permissible by law, we exclude all warranties, expressed, or implied as to the accuracy of the information contained in any of the materials on the website. We cannot accept any liability for any material on the website or because of any use or reliance placed upon information contained on the website.

k. Any material downloaded or otherwise obtained using our website is done so at your own discretion and risk. You will be solely responsible for any loss or damage to your own computer systems that result from the download of such materials.

10. Data Protection

a. Chesterfield Sofas Ireland complied with current General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

11. Legal

a. These Terms and Conditions of Trading are governed by and are to be construed in accordance with the laws of and within the Jurisdiction of Northern Ireland.
